3. University of Law SQE2: best for a part time online route with published instalments

The University of Law sells SQE2 preparation for legal professionals through its online store, with a part time online start date of 09 November 2026 and the fee shown up front. Instalment pricing appears on the same page as the headline figure, which is useful if you are paying your own way. ULaw also publishes a free SQE revision app with 45 multiple choice questions written by its own experts and a QR scanner for its textbooks, plus discounts on study manuals and an alumni course fee discount with an SRN code.

The published fee is from 5,000 GBP, with instalments from 833.33 GBP per month, and the course fee excludes the SQE assessments. That is the highest headline fee checked here, and the figure on the store page is for the legal professionals route, so confirm the fee for other routes and start dates. QLTS School competes on mock volume. The Advantage and Premium packages include 300 SQE2 mock exams with model answers, on a platform built to mirror the written assessment environment, while Basic includes 120. Written mocks carry AI feedback aligned to the SRA assessment criteria in every package, and free sample written and oral mocks are available without signing up. Live one to one practice stations with tutor feedback are included at Advantage and Premium.

Prices are 1,990 GBP Basic, 2,490 GBP Advantage and 2,990 GBP Premium, with a 90 GBP administration fee on instalment plans. The course includes 16 timed SQE2 skill practices with feedback broken down by skill and legal knowledge from a supervisor, five scheduled personal supervisions including an SQE2 Ready Review that advises whether you are ready to sit, and live seminars, feedback sessions and 30 minute information sessions most weeks. Across the programme there are more than 100 activities, skill practices and simulated assessments, ending with three timed final assessments.

The fee is 2,700 GBP and the course materials state there are no additional costs, with 10 months of continued free access. The SQE assessments are extra. 7. Brigitte's FLK SQE tutoring: best for targeted one to one help without a whole course

Sometimes the gap is not a course but one hour with someone who will read your answer. Brigitte's FLK sells SQE2 tutoring by the session at published fixed prices rather than by quote: 64.95 GBP for one hour, or 179.95 GBP for three one hour sessions, which works out cheaper per hour. Preptackle's SQE2 Mockshop is the cheapest route here to a realistic written mock. Mocks cost 20 GBP each, paid as you go rather than as a package, and access continues until you pass the exam. Payments are taken online by card or PayPal, with no subscription to commit to. This separate SQE2 Prep app is published by an individual developer rather than an established course provider, and it is free to download, so the cost of trying it is low. The listing states 2,000 or more original scenario based multiple choice items covering client interviewing, advocacy, case and matter analysis, legal research, and legal writing and drafting, with questions across business organisations, dispute resolution, property practice, wills and intestacy, and criminal practice.

Multiple choice drilling is not the same task as producing a station response under time pressure, and the listing describes no tutor feedback, marking or oral practice. It does not state what any in app subscription costs, so check that in the store before you rely on it, and it does not claim alignment to a specific current SRA assessment window. Use it as free filler for knowledge recall, not as preparation for the stations themselves.

It is a sample set rather than a large practice bank, so you will exhaust it quickly, and it provides no marking, feedback, study plan or oral practice. Start with the free SRA sample questions and assessment specification, because they define the standard and cost nothing. If your weak point is oral performance under observation and you can fund it, BPP, ULaw and BARBRI are the options that put a qualified person in front of you, and BARBRI is the only one of the three offering a free rejoin if you do not pass. The College of Legal Practice and QLTS School cover the middle of the market, one with individual written feedback and the other with sheer volume of mocks.

If money is the constraint, the cheapest credible route is a small number of mocks from the Mockshop, a bundle of Revise SQE guides, and one to one tutoring for the answers you cannot diagnose yourself. Mobile station practice would fit between tutor sessions, but the app is not released yet, so do not build a plan around it.
